City of Menifee Announces Exciting Fall Events to Celebrate the Season

The City of Menifee is ready to celebrate fall with five great events that have something for everyone to enjoy!

Haunt Your House - Get ready to spook your neighbors and join Menifee's Annual Haunt Your House home decorating competition! There are five categories to choose from, so everyone can join in the fun. Entries will be accepted online at www.cityofmenifee.us/specialevents from Tuesday, October 1 through Monday, October 14. The community can vote for their favorite homes using an interactive map on the City's website from Friday, October 18 through Tuesday, October 22. Winners will be announced on social media and the City's Special Events webpage on Friday, October 25. Click here to watch a highlight of last year's category winners.

Clean Air and Electric Car Expo - The Menifee Clean Air and Electric Car Expo will be held on Saturday, October 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College (28237 La Piedra Rd.). In collaboration with local partnerships to coincide with California Clean Air Day, the event aims to promote emission reducing habits through a fun, interactive, and educational environment. It will feature an Electric Vehicle Car Show, music, food, and exhibitors.

Fall Festival - The City's annual Fall Festival will kick-off on Saturday, October 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College (28237 La Piedra Rd.). In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this year's event will offer a FREE kid-zone wristband to all who donate a full-sized toiletry item to Alternatives to Domestic Violence, an organization that provides a range of services aimed at breaking the cycle of physical and emotional violence within families and the community. Cash and Venmo donations will also be accepted with all proceeds benefiting Alternatives to Domestic Violence. Fall Festival highlights include:

  • Kid-Zone (free admission with donation to our Domestic Violence Awareness Booth)
  • Community Performances
  • Live Music and Entertainment
  • Trunk-or-Treat & Car Cruise-In
  • Food and Craft Vendors

Día de los Muertos Celebration - The Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration will be hosted at Mt. San Jacinto College (28237 La Piedra Rd.) on Saturday, October 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday in which families honor their loved ones by inviting the souls of the deceased back to earth. Music, feasting, dancing, and more activities make this cultural holiday a celebration of life. Celebration highlights include:

  • Catrina Contest
    • Live Performances
    • Children's Activities
    • Food & Craft Vendors
    • Kid-Zone
    • City Life Car Club Display
    • Community & Individual Altars

The public is invited to participate in a Día de los Muertos community altar hosted and designed by our Community Services Department. Residents are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones and small offerings to be displayed throughout the event. Families can request space for an individual altar and/or submit a tapete by emailing [email protected].

Trot for a Cause - Get ready to jump, climb, crawl, slide, run, and laugh your way through this 5K Fun Run! Trot for a Cause will take place on Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Santa Rosa Academy (27587 La Piedra Rd.). The City of Menifee has put together a variety of FUN obstacles including inflatables, color bombs, mazes, tire runs, potato sack races, and more to keep you smiling the whole way through. In addition to a $10 registration fee, the donation of four canned goods per participant is required. All food donations will benefit the Menifee Community Cupboard.
