Scam Alert: Circulation of False Mesra Bonanza Winner Announcement

PETRONAS has been made aware of the circulation of a notification falsely bearing our Company name, claiming that recipients have won the 2023 PETRONAS Mesra Bonanza contest via email and on social media by unauthorised parties.

We wish to inform that neither PETRONAS nor any of our subsidiaries within the Group of Companies are involved in this fraudulent activity. We appeal to the public not to respond to this scam, and to please exercise caution when encountering any such correspondence, offer or solicitation claiming to be from PETRONAS or our subsidiaries.

We would like to emphasise that PETRONAS follows a strict protocol for winner announcements whereby our official representatives will first contact the winners via a phonecall, followed by an email from our authorised email domain. Subsequently, announcements will be made on our official digital media platforms, namely www.mymesra.com.my and @petronasbrands on Facebook and Instagram.

Please be wary of any other mode of communication claiming to announce contest winners and note that PETRONAS will not request any personal information or payment to claim any prize. If you encounter any such requests, we urge you to report it immediately to Mesralink at 1-300-88-8181.

PETRONAS has lodged a report to the authorities on this matter.
