TNMP Prepares for Hurricane Beryl to Strike Gulf Coast Service Territory

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) has activated its Emergency Operations Plan in anticipation of Hurricane Beryl's impact on its Gulf Coast service territory. TNMP is taking comprehensive steps to ensure the safety and readiness of its operations and employees.

"We stand ready to respond when needed," stated Keith Nix, Vice President of Operations. "Our priority is to ensure the safety of our employees and the reliability of our services for our customers."

Preparations include:

1. Employee Readiness:
- No mandatory evacuations are currently in place for TNMP operating areas, so employees are not required to evacuate their families.
- All employees are expected to be prepared for work when called upon.

2. Additional Crew Deployment:
- TNMP will send additional crews from the Central Texas (CTX) and North Texas (NTX) areas to the Gulf Coast by Sunday evening at 5 PM. These crews will be ready to work as directed by local management.

3. Contractor and Vegetation Management Support:
- TNMP has secured additional contractor linemen and vegetation management support, who will be on-site and ready to work by Monday or as needed.

4. Executive Committee Involvement:
- TNMP's Executive Committee has been actively participating in calls with the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) since the initial call on Friday and will continue to do so throughout the event.

5. Mutual Assistance Coordination:
- TNMP's designated contact for the Southeast Electric Exchange (SEE) and the Texas Mutual Assistance Group (TXMAG) will participate in any calls from members requesting support. No calls have been received yet, but it is anticipated that requests for assistance will arise soon.

6. Communication and Coordination:
- TNMP has notified ERCOT and industrial customers and will be reaching out to cities in the affected areas to collaborate on necessary preparations.

7. Weather Monitoring:
- TNMP continues to closely monitor local weather reports in the Houston area and through its weather service, acknowledging the potential for rapid changes in conditions.
