The pedestrian critically injured at 2:20 a.m. last Sunday after being hit by a car while crossing Lafayette Street near the Fairfield Avenue intersection has died.

Keanna T. Morris, 33, of Antioch, was crossing Lafayette Street outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by a Chrysler 200 sedan driven by Donna D. Gray (also known as Donna Matlock), 65, of 2nd Avenue South. Morris was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died of her injuries this week.

Responding officers found that Gray smelled of alcohol and showed indicators of impairment. She admitted to using cocaine as well as consuming three to four beers. Gray was arrested Sunday morning and charged with DUI 3rd offense, having an open container of alcohol, and not having proof of insurance. A blood sample was obtained from her for analysis by the MNPD Crime Laboratory.
