On August 3, 2024, State Police arrested Tara L. Rivera, age 48, of Hogansburg, NY, for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, operating motor vehicle impaired by drugs 1st, and issued vehicle and traffic tickets.

On August 3, 2024, at approximately 5:22 p.m., Troopers observed a 2013 black Hyundai Genesis traveling north at a high rate of speed on State Highway 37 in the town of Westville. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, who was identified as Rivera. While interviewing Rivera, she was showing signs of impairment and located drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Troopers administered SFSTs, which she failed. Further investigation determined that Rivera was impaired by drugs.

Rivera was arrested and transported to SP Malone for processing. She was arraigned in the Town of Westville Court and was released on her own recognizance.
