At 1:47 Am this morning Portland Fire crews were called to a house on fire on the 5500 block of NE 27th Ave. When firefighters arrived they found heavy fire burning in the single story house. In addition to the large amount of fire, crews were challenged by down power lines.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and to search for any trapped occupants. Crews were forced to extinguish the fire from the exterior before moving to the interior due to the volume of fire burning on the exterior. No one was found inside and there were no injuries associated with this fire. The power company was called to deal with the down lines. The main body of fire was knocked down within 10 minutes of crews arriving.
A fire investigator was called to determine the fires cause and point of origin. This release will be updated if pertinent information becomes available.
