On Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 4:36 a.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a report of an armed robbery near Northeast 134th Avenue and Northeast Powell Boulevard. The arriving officer learned the victim had been asleep in his car when he was robbed by a suspect at gunpoint. He was not injured (case number 24-287597).
At 5:12 a.m., another officer responded to a pedestrian robbery at gunpoint in the 300 block of Southeast 109th Avenue, no injuries reported (case 24-287607).
Then at 5:24 a.m., a third robbery report of a pedestrian at Northeast Schuyler Street and Northeast 92nd Avenue, no injuries (case 24-287612).
In each case, the suspect description was consistent. A short time later, an East Precinct officer spotted the suspect vehicle in the area of Northeast 102nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street. The officer attempted to stop the suspect but he eluded and the officer pursued him. At Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Main Street, an officer used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the suspect's vehicle. The suspect jumped out and ran but was stopped by pursuing officers within about a block and arrested (photo).
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to assist with the investigation. Following the execution of a search warrant, detectives located and seized a handgun (photo).
Marshall J. Hansen, 19, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Robbery in the First Degree (3 counts), Robbery in the Second Degree (3 counts), and Attempt to Elude Police by Vehicle.
