Concrete Curb and Sidewalk Work Starting

Beginning on June 24, Copenhaver crews will begin construction of concrete curb, sidewalk, and driveway aprons along S Prairie St and Wilson St. Residents whose driveways will be affected by this work will receive door notifications the day before work starts. These residents will not have access to their driveways once the work begins for approximately 7-10 days and until the concrete is fully cured. Vehicles will need to be parked outside of the construction zone until the contractor provides a notification that the work is completed.

Project Status as of June 2024

All watermain work has been completed and the contractor has shifted to the construction of storm sewer along S Prairie and on Wilson St. BNSF has completed a portion of the crossing gate and cantilever installation for the intersection and will begin installation of electrical wiring in the coming weeks. Stage 1 concrete curb/gutter, sidewalk, and driveway aprons is set to begin on June 24 starting on S Prairie St (east side) and then moving to E Wilson St (south side). The project is currently on schedule for completion in December 2024.
