Press Release

On August 18, 2024, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested David A. Burns, age 47 of Trumansburg, NY for the class "C" felony of Grand Larceny in the second degree.

An investigation began in March this year after the New York State Police learned that a victim from the Ithaca area had entered into a contract with Burns (who owns Duramax Developers) in July 2023 and didn't complete work he was paid to do. Burns was hired to demolish an existing building and build a modular home in its place but only completed part of the job, even though the victim paid him over $400,000.

After the lengthy investigation, Burns was arrested. Burns was processed at SP Ithaca and later transported to the Tompkins County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.
