Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma Raises Tens of Thousands for Local Charities at NHRA Weekend

While DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals race weekend was buzzing with racing records and milestones, the biggest feel-good story was helping local children and families in need. With the help of fans and the NHRA racing community, over $25,000 was raised for local non-profits through Speedway Children's Charities Sonoma (SCC).

SCC Sonoma, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway, raised funds through a karting tournament that featured NHRA drivers along with a spirited live auction at the 16th annual Nitro Night, honoring the late Eric Medlen. The funds will go directly to Sonoma County non-profit organizations that help children and families in critical need through an annual grant program.

"We're always blown away by the support we receive from the NHRA fan and industry community." said Courtney Kiser, director of SCC Sonoma. "These funds will do a tremendous amount of good for our local children and families in need."

Speedway Children's Charities Sonoma continues to work to help local children and families thrive with programs and services provided by non-profit organizations within Sonoma County. Since 2001, the Sonoma chapter has distributed more than $6.8 million in grants to qualified Sonoma County non-profits dedicated to children and families in need.
