City of Artesia Highlights Strong Financial Health

On August 12, 2024, the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for Fiscal Year 2022-23 was presented to the City Council. The report received a clean audit opinion from the respected audit firm Moss, Levy and Hartzheim.

This ACFR is important because it completes the City's financial reporting for previous years, making Artesia current with all its audits. This marks the second ACFR that the City Council has accepted this year, which demonstrates the City's commitment to overcoming past audit delays and maintaining accurate, timely financial reporting.

Since October 2021, the City has completed six years' worth of outstanding audits, resulting in four sets of audited financial statements and two Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports. These efforts have positioned Artesia to better plan for the future, ensuring that financial decisions are based on the most up-to-date information available.

The completion of these audits reflects the City's prioritization of careful financial planning and responsible spending.
