605 All-Star Band practice parade to march through Lakewood

The 605 All-Star Band, comprised of 550 students from Mayfair, Artesia, Bellflower and five other local high schools, has been chosen to perform in the Rose Parade on Jan. 1, 2025.

They will be practicing for the big event in a parade from Bellflower to Lakewood on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This is a unique opportunity for residents of Lakewood and the surrounding region to see and hear the band up close. Bring a chair and cheer them on as they march and perform.

The nearly four-mile practice parade route will begin at Ron Yary Stadium in Bellflower and finish at Mayfair Park (see map graphic).

Consider using alternate routes between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., as access to driving or parking on these streets will be restricted:

• Woodruff Avenue from Artesia Boulevard to Allington Street.
• Allington Street from Woodruff Avenue to Bellflower Boulevard.
• Bellflower Boulevard from Ashworth Street to South Street.
• South Street from Bellflower Boulevard to Clark Avenue.

Emergency vehicles will still have access as needed. Law enforcement officials will reopen the streets as soon as the parade has safely passed.
