November 15, 2024 - ManyCity of Midland offices and services will be closed or operating under alternate hours November 28 - 29 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.
All City offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day). City offices and most services will remain closed on Friday, November 29.
Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) and the Midland Civic Arena will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but both will maintain normal service hours on Friday, November 29; Saturday, November 30; and Sunday, December 1.
The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27 and will be remain closed Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1. It will reopen to regular hours on Monday, December 2. Account access and electronic resources are available 24/7 through the Library app "myLIBRO" or online through the Library catalog, which can be accessed at www.gadml.org.
Refuse and recycling will not be collected on Thursday, November 28 or Friday, November 29. Residents with Thursday, November 28 refuse and Thursday Week 4 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 27. Friday, November 29 refuse and Friday Week 4 recycling collections will take place on Monday, December 2. Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.
The City's Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30.
Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 29, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
