Ocean Sun Floater Faced the Typhoon Kristine at Magat Dam, Philippines

Resilience and Strength: Ocean Sun Floater at Magat Dam, Philippines

Our thoughts are with those affected by Typhoon Kristine across the Philippines. We extend our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones and hope for a swift recovery for all impacted communities.

Despite the severe conditions brought by the typhoon, our Ocean Sun Floating Solar project at Magat Dam proved its resilience. With over 200mm of rain and strong winds, our advanced membrane system handled the storm seamlessly, automatically pumping away excess water without the need for human intervention. Just one day later, the Magat Floating Solar Plant was back to full production, demonstrating the reliability of Ocean Sun technology.

Why Ocean Sun's Floater is Built for Resilience:

Flexible Membrane: Adjusts to waves, reducing stress and maintaining stability.
Low Center of Gravity: Minimises drag in high winds, enhancing resilience.
Proven Durability: Engineered for extreme conditions, with materials tested in harsh environments.

In partnership with SNAP, the Magat project has shown that sustainable, resilient energy solutions can continue to operate, even in challenging environments.
