Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine


At 9.00, political group leaders will make statements on the need for the EU's continuous support for Ukraine, followed by a vote on a resolution at 12.30, setting out the newly elected Parliament's position on Russia's war. With Russia intensifying its bombardment of Ukrainian civil infrastructure, MEPs are expected to reaffirm their strong support for Ukraine.

Election of Parliament's Quaestors


Following yesterday's election of the European Parliament President and 14 Vice-Presidents, at 10.00 MEPs will elect five Quaestors, establishing Parliament's Bureau for the next two and a half years. Quaestors deal with administrative matters directly affecting MEPs.

Forming Parliament's committees and delegations


At 12.30, MEPs will vote on a proposal by the Conference of Presidents (i.e. the President and political group leaders) on the list and size of Parliament's standing committees and interparliamentary delegations. The lists of MEPs to be appointed to each committee (which are decided internally by the political groups and non-attached members) will be announced on Friday at 9.00.
