City notes parking, transit information for Independence Day Celebration
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn,- The City of Clarksville will present its annual Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 3 at Liberty Park. The free rain or shine event will include a live concert, activities, food trucks, local beers from Star Spangled Brewing Co., and a fireworks show.
The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County co-sponsored this year's fireworks display.
Liberty Park will open at 5 p.m. with activities and music beginning at 5:30 p.m. Seating will be available throughout the park, and the concert will be on the Great Lawn near the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The fireworks display will begin at 9:10 p.m.

PARKING
There is no parking inside Liberty Park except for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible parking. Off-site event parking will be available at the following locations once the grassy lot in front of Liberty Park Grill is full.

- CMCSS Facilities Building at 1312 Highway 48-13
- Cumberland Plaza Garage at 133 Commerce St.
- Edith Pettus Park at 345 Farris Drive

LIBERTY PARK GRILL CUSTOMERS
Liberty Park Grill will be operating from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on July 3. Beginning at 4 p.m., guests can pay a fee of $20 to park at the restaurant. Each paying vehicle will receive a $20 voucher redeemable for food and drink at Liberty Park Grill.
SHUTTLE
Free, accessible shuttle service provided by the Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will begin at 5 p.m. The shuttle will transport patrons to the Wilma Rudolph Event Center and will be available for pickup at the following parking areas:
- CMCSS Facilities Building at 1312 Highway 48-13
- Cumberland Plaza Garage at 133 Commerce St.
- Edith Pettus Park at 345 Farris Drive

All shuttles will continue their loop until 9 p.m. with a momentary pause of service during the fireworks.
At the conclusion of the fireworks, CTS buses displaying their destination lot will begin returning guests to the parking areas, with the last bus departing from Liberty Park by 11 p.m.
RIVER ACCESS AT LIBERTY PARK
Clarksville Marina members must have approved vehicle tags or a temporary pass to access the marina parking lot inside Liberty Park. Boats with trailers will be allowed to access the boat ramp parking area until it is filled. No boats will be allowed to exit the parking area from 8 p.m. until the park empties after the fireworks display.
LIBERTY PARK CLOSURE
Liberty Park will close at sunset on Tuesday, July 2, to prepare for the Independence Day Celebration and will reopen for general use at sunrise on Thursday, July 4.
BARK PARK CLOSURE
Due to fireworks preparations, the Bark Park at Liberty Park will be closed all day on Wednesday, July 3. To ensure the safety of the pets, the park will remain closed for cleanup activities and will reopen at noon on Friday, July 5.
TRAVEL & SAFETY
Clarksville Police officers will be stationed at all major intersections around Liberty Park and Riverside Drive beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing after the event. Pedestrians walking to the park are encouraged to cross only at these major intersections.
Additionally, Zinc Plant Road and the Zinc Plant Bridge will be closed to traffic from 8:50 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. for the fireworks show. Guests should expect long delays on Riverside Drive and Highway 48-13 before and after the event.
LOST CHILD PROCEDURE
In the event of a lost child, please flag down the nearest police officer or report directly to the Clarksville Parks and Recreation tent located near the amphitheater stage.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
We are pleased to offer additional ADA services for the event:
An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be on stage throughout the evening.
Sensory items will be available at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation green tent located near the amphitheater stage.
A dedicated wheelchair viewing area will also be available.
A limited number of ADA parking spots are available at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center parking lot. These spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5 p.m. Once all ADA parking spots are filled, no additional ADA parking will be available. To gain access to these spots, you must display an ADA tag.
PEST MANAGEMENT
To help mitigate mosquitoes and other insects, a non-toxic insect repellent containing garlic has been sprayed. This natural repellent is safe for humans, pets, and plants, effectively reducing pests without harming the environment.
PETS
Pets, except for service animals, are not allowed at the event. All service animals must be on a leash, and pet waste removed.
SAFETY RULES IN LIBERTY PARK
The following are prohibited:
- Parking on the grass
- Pets on the playground
- Outside alcoholic beverages
- Camping or open fires
- Disturbance of plants or wildlife
- Drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Equestrian traffic
- Inflatables, tents, and canopies
- Metal or artifact detecting
- Profanity
- Skateboards, motorized vehicles, and scooters (except mobility devices)
- Sleeping on park grounds or property
- Smoking, vaping, and use of tobacco within 25 feet of government facility doors and event areas
- Weapons, firearms, and hunting (except as permitted by TCA 39-17-13)
