The Digital Humanities Collaborative hopes you will join us at our upcoming faculty workshop led by Dr. Gorzelany-Mostak, "Hearing US Presidential Candidates in the Digital Age: The Trax on the Trail Project."
Bring your laptop or other devices on Nov. 13, 11 a.m. to noon, Library 376. Please register.
Founded at Georgia College & State University in 2015, Trax on the Trail is a website and research project devoted to the study of U.S. presidential campaign music. The cornerstone of this endeavor is Trail Trax, a database where researchers track, catalogue and analyze discrete instances of music on the trail-at rallies, conventions, fundraisers and across social media platforms. This workshop will feature a demonstration of this database's capabilities and a discussion of its growing significance as a digital repository and resource for the study of sound as an instrument of political persuasion.
Dana Gorzelany-Mostak is associate professor of Music, founder of Trax on the Trail and a 2024-25 DHC faculty fellow.
This event is co-organized by the Center for Teaching & Learning.
