Saturday, November 9 GCSU's three choral ensembles will present a combined concert at 7:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church on 330 S. Liberty Street. "Americana" will feature choral works by American composers which span over two hundred and fifty years. The selections are by such notable composers and arrangers as William Billings, Amy Beach, William Dawson, Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Emma Lou Diemer, Gwyneth Walker and Moses Hogan. University Chorus and Max Noah Singers will perform a setting of "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," written by Johnny Edwards, a 2014 master of music education alumnus and the Newton County High School choral director. Choral conductors for the concert include Dr. Jennifer Flory, Dr. Dana Gorzelany-Mostak, Savannah Greene, Addie Resh, Kelsey Foster, Richard Guyton and Riley Greer. The choirs will be joined by pianists Dr. Hue Jang and Dr. Lev Ryabinin. A $5 donation is encouraged.
