On October 9, 2024, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks in conjunction with the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested two Taghkanic men for possession of child pornography.

Following a law enforcement tip, Investigators determined both John R. Vogt, age 74, and Mark T. Vogt, age 45, both of Taghkanic, NY, were in possession of child pornography.

Both subjects were arrested for three counts of Possessing Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child under 16 years of age, a class E felony.

The Vogt's were each issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Taghkanic Court on November 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
