Have old tires lying around? Good news - they are recyclable, so bring them to us.
Event details: The City's Environmental Services Department will host a scrap tire collection event on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fort Worth East Regional Library parking lot, 6301 Bridge St., 76112. This event is free to the public and funded in part by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
Why participate? This event is a way to discourage illegal dumping, reduce fire and environmental hazards, and recycle tires into reusable materials.
This is also a chance to check and replace long-overdue tires from your car, truck, bicycle or riding lawn mower. By responsibly recycling tires, you are not simply cleaning up your space but also helping keep Fort Worth beautiful and protecting the environment.
What happens to the tires? Once collected, tires will be taken to a tire recycling facility, where they will be transformed into useful materials for products like playground surfaces, tire swings, asphalt and landscaping materials. Some tires may even be repurposed to create tire-derived fuel.
