City of Marietta’s Building Inspections Division Achieves Prestigious IAS Accreditation

MARIETTA - The City of Marietta is proud to announce that it's Building Inspections Division of the Department of Public Works is the first in the State of Georgia to receive accreditation from the International Accreditation Service (IAS).
The IAS, through the International Code Council, offers an accreditation program for building code departments and divisions to demonstrate their commitment to excellence by:
• Adhering to best practices for public safety by meeting nationally recognized standards and code practices.
• Improving customer service.
• Increasing efficiency in permitting, plan reviews, inspections, and customer service.
• Lowering insurance premiums for residential and commercial property owners.
To achieve this prestigious accreditation, the Building Inspections Division met over 69 criteria covering general operations, quality management, personnel, permitting, budgeting & finance, plan review, license verification, inspections, construction codes, and more.
This accreditation further underscores the City's commitment to ensuring the residents and businesses of the City of Marietta have the highest standard for structural safety in the state and the country.
