Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales Encourages Hoosiers to Get Out and Vote on Election Day

INDIANAPOLIS - (November 5, 2024) - On this important Election Day today, Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales is encouraging all eligible Hoosiers to head to the polls and fulfill their civic duty. With Indiana polls open statewide, today presents an opportunity to influence the future of Indiana and the nation by exercising one's constitutional right to vote.

Secretary Morales hit the road early today with a packed schedule, crisscrossing the Hoosier state on this historic Election Day. Starting in St. Joseph County, stops across the state are scheduled to monitor voting and to thank election administrators, poll workers, and voters.

"Today, Hoosiers have the chance to join a tradition that is pivotal to our nation. On Election Day, you have the chance to exercise your civic responsibility as US citizens. For over a year we've been preparing and encouraging voters to get to the polls. Now is the time to get to your polling location and cast your vote," said Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales.

Voters are reminded to bring a photo ID and confirm their polling location to ensure a smooth experience. All Indiana polling locations will be open from 6 am to 6 pm local time today, November 5, 2024. Dedicated poll workers are stationed at every polling site, ready to offer guidance and support to ensure an efficient voting experience for all.

Once again, Secretary Morales is reminding voters that high Election Day turnout may mean longer lines. "A side effect of great Hoosier voter participation is potential wait time. Please be patient at the polls and with poll workers - your vote is still vital even if it takes more time," added Secretary Morales. Anyone in line to vote at 6 pm local time will be allowed to vote.
