Specialty Crops Market News Transitions to New System

Date
July 03, 2024

Today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Specialty Crops Market News provided an update on its ongoing efforts to modernize its market reporting system and improve user experience and accessibility. A new, updated report format is now available on the My Market News platform. The expanded, reformatted reports will ease data access by allowing customers to view more data on fewer reports for easier analysis on multiple devices and increase market transparency by consolidating current data and capturing additional commodity specific information not currently reported.

My Market News provides users with a consistent and clear source of market information, a searchable database and Application Programming Interface capabilities customers can use to create custom reports, data sets and visualizations. Specialty Crops Market News reports and data sets began transitioning to My Market News in September 2023. Report and data sets for all retail, terminal and shipping point markets have transitioned to the new system. Data sets for the movement markets are expected to transition in late 2024.

The updated reports will also be available through the USDA Market News App, providing producers and others in the supply chain with instant access to market information. Both iOS and Android versions are available to download through the Apple and Google Play stores. Search for "USDA Market News Mobile Application" to download the app and begin exploring its potential.
