Man arrested after fight over firearm

At 2:06 a.m. on September 28, Eugene Police officers were flagged down outside the Horsehead Bar, 99 West Broadway, for a fight possibly involving a firearm.

As officers approached the incident, they observed three men were fighting over an object. One of the men, Desmond Allan Delille (Desmond McDonald, believed to be his previous name) age 26, from Springfield, dropped a handgun on the ground and ran from officers. Officers pursued and caught up to Delille and safely took him into custody. The two other men also fled after picking up the firearm and officers searched the area but did not find them.

Delille was lodged at Lane County Jail on charges including Felon Possession of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Escape in the Third Degree. Case 24-14537
