Undergraduate Research Access Innovation Seed Grant awarded to Dr. Mansouri

Ohio State Marion Assistant Professor of Practice, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nima Mansouri recently received an Undergraduate Research Access Innovation Seed Grant from Ohio State in the amount of $9,980.

Mansouri was one of five faculty who teach at The Ohio State University at Marion to receive this grant. The grant will fund research opportunities for our students, help them build skills, experiences, and their resume, and support faculty research.

According to Dr. Mansouri, the goal of this project is to empower engineering and science students by providing practical experience in the development and implementation of numerical methods.

"While students have gained familiarity with various software tools for solving problems in STEM fields, they may lack a deeper understanding of how these tools work numerically," said Mansouri.

"Our objective is to propose a series of research experiments that will introduce students to the development and implementation of mathematical and numerical methods in relevant fields," he said. "This initiative aims to equip students with strong analytical skills and practical knowledge. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, students from diverse backgrounds will work as a team to develop, optimize, and apply methods for solving governing equations across various engineering and scientific disciplines."
