The City of Killeen offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday.
Trash collection services will be unaltered. The Killeen Recycling Center will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. Recycling trailers will be available at the rodeo grounds at 3601 South WS Young Drive.
Libraries, Senior Center, Family Recreation Center, Transfer Station, and the Solid Waste Administration Building will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
Emergency services will continue without interruption.
City offices will resume normal business hours Thursday, Dec. 26.
The city will be offering bulk collection pick up Thursday, Dec. 26 - Tuesday, Dec. 31. The City will provide additional bulk pick up of Christmas-related waste, free of charge during those dates. Residents are asked to place garbage in plastic bags no larger than 33 gallons, or boxes no larger than eight cubic feet wide at the curbside at least four feet away from the roll-out container by 7a.m. on your collection day. This collection does not include bulky items like furniture, tires, construction waste or appliances. A fee will be assessed for those items.
The city will hold its annual Christmas tree recycling event on January 4, 2025, at the Killeen Special Events Center located at 3301 S WS Young Dr., from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All ornaments, lights, tinsel, and other decorations must be removed prior to dropping off trees. There is no charge to have your tree recycled.
