Executive Conference in China

The first day's agenda was comprised of reports from group companies about their business situation and market trends, presentations from participants of the region's executive training program, and updates from the five intercompany committees (on brand strategy, DX promotion, Sumitomo Spirit promotion, and other focus areas). I was pleased to see how companies are working together, using the strength of our group, to address common challenges and find new business in a rapidly-changing environment, and I shared my expectations for future activities with the speakers. The first day closed with a ceremony to present the Sumitomo Electric Glorious Excellent Company Award for 2023 to eight group companies that had an outstanding year with respect to our various management factors such as financial performance, safety, quality, and compliance. As president, I commend each of these companies for their success and would like to express my utmost gratitude for their daily efforts.
