D-4 Officers Arrest Suspect in Possession of 20 Grams of Crack Cocaine

At about 9:54 AM, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Omar Credle, 55, of Boston, on drug trafficking charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard to address the ongoing quality of life issues. Officers observed a male individual with a plastic bag containing a white substance directly in front of him.

Officers exited their marked cruiser and approached the individual. Officers searched the suspect and recovered two separate large plastic bags containing individually packaged plastic bags of rocklike substance. The drugs were later determined to be crack cocaine and weighed approximately 20 grams. Officers also recovered a paper fold of Heroin, and one prescription pill.

Credle was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Class B Crack Cocaine, Possession of Class A, and Possession of Class E. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
