Government adopts multiple documents on understanding, cooperation with Türkiye

The government adopted multiple documents - memoranda of understanding and cooperation between Serbia and the Republic of Türkiye in a range of fields at its session today.

The signed documents refer to the areas of labour, employment and social security; the economy; industry and technology; energy transition; media and information; youth and sports; and disaster management and emergency situations.

The government also adopted a Bill amending the Law on Reproductive Material of Forest Trees.

Furthermore, a Bill was adopted to amend the Law on the Recognition of Agricultural Plant Varieties, introducing reciprocity for the registration of agricultural plant varieties listed in the common catalogue of the European Union or a variety list of any EU member state, with registration in the Register of Agricultural Plant Varieties of Serbia.

At the session, the government passed a Decree amending the Decree establishing the Grant Programme for purchasing rural houses with land in the Republic of Serbia for 2024, allocating RSD 950 million.

The government also adopted a Conclusion on supporting the economic development of underdeveloped municipalities through the development of family and women's entrepreneurship in rural areas.

Moreover, the amended Decision on the temporary ban on the import of wood pellets was extended for an additional 90 days given that market disruptions for this product have not yet been resolved, although the effects of the ban have been noticeable in the past 30 days.

Members of the government also adopted a Conclusion on the project for the construction, without management and maintenance, of self-balancing large-capacity solar power plants with battery energy storage systems in the Republic of Serbia, as a project of importance for the country.

The construction of solar power plants is envisaged in the municipalities of Negotin, Zaječar, Odžaci, Lebane, Leskovac and Bujanovac.
