"Children in residential treatment facilities are subjected to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, while facility operators profit from a $20 billion-a-year industry funded by taxpayers," said Rep. Nancy Mace. "We co-sponsored the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act in the House, and it passed both chambers. We are taking steps to ensure our vulnerable children are protected from abuse in taxpayer-funded facilities. This isn't up for debate."
