State Police arrest Fort Ann man for Assault

Press Release

On September 28, 2024, State Police of Greenwich arrested Jefferey G. Dickinson, 36, of Fort Ann, NY, for Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Aggravated Family Offense, Assault in the third degree, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing.

On September 28, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m., Troopers responded to the reports of an injured individual requesting help in the area of Sky Parlor Way in Salem, NY. The investigation determined Dickinson and the victim were in the area when they allegedly engaged in a physical dispute. Dickinson reportedly struck the victim multiple times and obstructed their breathing. The victim eventually got away and requested help from a good samaritan who called law enforcement. Dickinson fled on foot prior to Troopers arrival. The victim was evaluated by EMS and declined further medical treatment. Further investigation determined this incident occurred while an active court-issued full stay-away order was in effect against Dickinson, protecting the victim.

A search of the immediate area failed to locate Dickinson. The following day, he was located and arrested in Hartford, NY. Dickinson was transported to SP Greenwich for processing and then turned over to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
