Williston State College (WSC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Deborah Halvorson as the new Vice President of Business Services.

WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College (WSC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Deborah Halvorson as the new Vice President of Business Services.

A Williston native, Ms. Halvorson brings an impressive background in finance, accounting, and leadership to the role. She began her position on Monday, August 26th.

Ms. Halvorson holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Dakota (UND) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She also earned an MBA in Finance from the prestigious Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Her career has been defined by a series of high-level positions, starting with Deloitte, one of the largest accounting firms in the country. Ms. Halvorson has also held leadership roles as a Manager for Country Financial Insurance, District Manager for Pizza Hut under Pepsico, Senior Director of Risk Management for Target, Regional Director for Supervalu, and positions with local oil field service companies in the Williston area. Most recently, she served as a key member of the team at Western Cooperative Credit Union in Williston.

WSC President Dr. Bernell Hirning expressed his excitement about Ms. Halvorson's appointment, stating, "We are fortunate to have someone of Deborah's caliber joining us. Her wealth of experience and deep connection to the Williston community will be invaluable as we move forward with new initiatives and continue to grow as a regional leader in higher education."

Ms. Halvorson's expertise in business operations, finance, and strategic leadership will be key in overseeing the college's financial operations, business services, and long-term planning.
