Fanoalla Dharubaaru Conference Advances Decentralization Efforts

The annual "Fanoalla Dharubaaru" Decentralization Conference continues to serve as a fundamental platform for local councils across the Maldives to collaborate with government ministries and stakeholders. Led by the Local Government Authority, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Maldives under the Integrated Governance Programme (IGP), the "Fanoalla Dharubaaru" conference plays a crucial role in advancing representational decision-making and governance principles at all levels. Through extensive engagement with atoll and island councils, as well as local communities, UNDP continues to support the decentralization journey by addressing gender dynamics, enhancing community engagement, and promoting fiscal independence.
