Resurfacing Project Continues on Route 220 SB in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised that a roadway resurfacing project continues on Route 220 southbound in Porter, Piatt, and Pine Creek townships in Lycoming County.

Structure Work
The contractor, HRI, Inc., will be placing a waterproofing membrane on the deck of the structures carrying Route 220 southbound over the railroad and over Pine Creek. Motorists can expect the left (passing) lane to be restricted where work is being performed.

Resurfacing Project
The contractor has completed milling operations on Route 220 and will begin wearing course paving operations between just west of the Route 287 interchange in Piatt Township and the Route 44 interchange in Porter Township.

Traffic Impacts

  • Motorists traveling Route 220 southbound can expect the left (passing) lane to be restricted between Route 287 and Route 44.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution.

HRI Inc. is the prime contractor for this $3,192,000 resurfacing project. Work includes milling and resurfacing of over four miles of Route 220 southbound between the Route 287 in Piatt Township and Pine Creek in Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, including resurfacing the ramps at the Route 220/Route 44 interchange (Main Street) and Thomas Street interchange (Route 3027) in Jersey Shore Borough. Additional work includes drainage upgrades, sawing and sealing of asphalt, bridge preservation on several structures, guiderail and concrete barrier upgrades, line painting, and traffic delineators. Work on this project is expected to be completed on in September of 2024.
