Science Club for Girls and Cambridge STEAM Initaitive Launch a Longitudinal Study of Alumni

Did you participate in Science Club for Girls while you were in elementary, middle school or high school? We want your feedback!

Science Club for Girls (SCFG) has served the Cambridge community and surrounding areas for 30 years by providing free, experiential science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs and maximizing meaningful interactions with women-in-STEM mentors. The Cambridge-based nonprofit is partnering with the Cambridge STEAM Initiative to learn more about the long-term impact that their programming has had on girls and gender-expansive youth.

If you participated in SCFG's programs (Science Clubs, served as a high school Junior Mentor, or other SCFG programs), please fill out this survey to share your experience and how it affected your personal and professional growth. The survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete. Please note: this survey is for SCFG alumni who have completed high school. Current participants are not eligible.

Your participation will:

  • Help SCFG understand the lasting impact of the nonprofit's programs and how they can continue to evolve and grow.
  • Contribute to securing resources and funding that enable SCFG to expand its reach.
  • Shed light on what aspects of STEAM programming support young people to develop positive STEAM Mindsets (such as interest, confidence, self-identity, leadership, etc.) that will lead to a life-long interest and persistence in STEAM pathways.
  • Ensure that more girls and gender-expansive youth have access to enriching STEM learning experiences, mentorship opportunities, and a vibrant community of support.
  • Better support other programs that have similar goals for young people.
