Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with French Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Thierry Burkhard today by phone.

The leaders discussed the current security environments in the Europe and Africa. Both leaders pledged continued support to Ukraine, while working together with our African partners to promote regional security.

Additionally, Gen. Brown and Gen. Burkhard discussed ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and deter conflict in the Middle East.

The long-standing military alliance between the United States and France is essential to security and stability around the world.
