Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for 6 NYCRR Part 199 Forest Tax Law

Notice is hereby given that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) filed a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with the New York State Department of State to amend Part 199 pursuant to Real Property Tax Law section 480-a.

The proposed rulemaking will address improving and sustainably managing New York's forest resources and lessening the administrative burden placed on participants and NYS DEC staff.

The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking is available in the November 20, 2024 issue of the State Register.

The public is invited to submit written comments on the proposed rulemaking through 5:00 PM January 27, 2024. Written public comments can be submitted by e-mail to: [email protected]or by mail to the contact listed below.
