The Bakersfield College Performing Arts Department is pleased to announce their final performance for the Fall semester entitled Transfiguration in the Circus. The production is set to delight attendees with hysterical performances from BC's talented performing arts students.

From the Belgian playwright Michel de Ghelderode, Transfiguration in the Circus presents an exploration of the complexity of living in an absurd world. The play is set in a big top circus tent where clowns perform amusing antics while exploring the deeper themes of joy, despair, freedom, and happiness. Beneath the amusing guise of a clown and all its hilarity, the production implores audiences to explore what it means to be a person without all the masks and makeup.

This theatre production of Transfiguration in the Circus is directed by Kimberly Chin, Professor of Theater Arts at Bakersfield College. Professor Chin has been a professor at BC for twenty-four years and has been the director of more than twenty plays. With her experience and passion for theater arts, the final theatre production of the Fall semester promises to be an enjoyable offering for the audience.

There will be four performances between November 21 and 24, taking place in the Edward Simonsen Black Box Theater. For more information on tickets and showtimes, please visit BC's Online Events Calendar.
