The National Productivity Centre of Cambodia and APO Secretariat organized an online workshop on Agribusiness Entrepreneurship for Persons with Disabilities from 8-10 October 2024. The workshop aligned with the APO Vision 2025, which emphasizes inclusive productivity and the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities in key sectors like agribusiness.
Twenty-one participants from 11 APO members explored opportunities for persons with disabilities to engage in agribusiness. Resource persons from Bangladesh, Japan, Lao PDR, and the Philippines shared innovative models, such as integrated mushroom cultivation and premium strawberry farming, as well as benchmark models to demonstrate how inclusive agricultural practices can promote economic and social empowerment.
Participants praised the workshop's relevance and recommended that the APO continue fostering dialogue and sharing the best practices on this topic. This initiative marks a critical step toward integrating persons with disabilities into productive agribusiness ventures across APO members.
