Gallt named Mesquite Public Works Director

The City of Mesquite has hired Eric Gallt as the Public Works Director.

Gallt, who started on Nov. 11, came to the City with almost 30 years of experience in civil engineering. His career includes several large roadway, transportation and highway projects.

Most recently, Gallt served in the City of Corpus Christi, where he managed the Traffic Planning Group of the Public Works Department. He was responsible for the city's transportation plan as well as reviewing and approving roadway-related bond projects, master plan documents, and engineering principles.

He previously worked for the City of Mesquite as a Traffic Engineering Manager, as the Traffic Engineering Manager for the City of Waco, as a City Traffic Engineer in Aurora, Ill., and as a Transportation Engineer for the Village of Plainfield, Ill.

Gallt earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, specializing in public works and traffic engineering.
