New Poll Shows Craig Leading in Dead Heat, Ayotte Deeply Unfavorable in New Hampshire Governor's Race

A new poll from the University of New Hampshire finds that the New Hampshire governor's race is "neck and neck" between Joyce Craig and Kelly Ayotte, with Craig leading 47%-46%.

The poll also finds that Kelly Ayotte's favorability is a deep -18% underwater, with 50% percent of voters viewing her unfavorably. This is the second poll this week that shows the candidates in a "statistical tie," and, like the St. Anselm's College poll released Tuesday, confirms Ayotte's high unfavorability among Granite Staters.

The new poll also comes on the heels of a new report from The Hill, highlighting how Democrats are going on offense to take back New Hampshire's governorship this year and "see their best opportunity in years to flip the governor's mansion in what is shaping up to be among the most competitive races for a state executive position this cycle."

"Today's poll is the latest sign that New Hampshire voters are fed up with Kelly Ayotte's self-serving politics and lies about her record, and they know they cannot trust her to put them first as governor," said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O'Brien. "While Ayotte has shown at every turn that she will put her own interests first - lying about her attacks on abortion rights and making millions working with corporations that jack up housing costs and ship jobs overseas - Granite Staters are excited about Joyce Craig's positive vision to protect reproductive rights, keep New Hampshire safe, and invest in public education. While Granite Staters know they can't trust Kelly Ayotte, momentum has continued to build behind Joyce Craig in the final sprint to November."
