Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., yesterday met with Chief of the General Staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces Staff Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah at the Pentagon. This was Gen. Brown's first meeting with his Iraqi counterpart.

The two military leaders discussed opportunities to further military cooperation and expressed a mutual commitment to a secure, stable Iraq and Middle East.

The U.S. and Iraq share a strong security partnership and continue to work alongside the Global Coalition to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS.
