Mi Rancho Supermarekt Opens First San Francisco Location in the Bayview Neighborhood

The family-owned Mexican grocery chain, Mi Rancho, brings its unique shopping experience to San Francisco's Bayview community. The supermarket, which prides itself on being accessible to the Spanish-speaking community, offers residents and businesses convenient access to fresh, quality groceries and affordable meal solutions at Mi Rancho's low prices.

While this is a local grocery chain, this is the first Mi Rancho in San Francisco. There are currently five stores in the greater Bay Area. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., the new supermarket is located at the former Duc Loi's Pantry at 5900 Third Street in the Bayview and delivers a full-service grocery shopping experience. Mi Rancho is the second largest grocery store to open in the Bayview, following the opening of the Lucky grocery store in Bayview Plaza.

"The opening of Mi Rancho is a crucial step towards addressing food insecurity in the Bayview," said Mayor London N. Breed. "I am even more excited that our seniors and residents will have a full-access grocery store within walking distance, where they can shop for fresh produce and affordable meal options. This new store will help improve access to fresh food while providing dignity and choice to our residents in need."

Mi Rancho's offerings include fruits, vegetables, seasonal products, and local produce from the South San Francisco Produce Market. The supermarket also features a butcher counter, a bakery specializing in Mexican bread, a dairy section, and a ready-to-go hot food station.

"We are happy to be part of this special community and to provide Bayview residents with a full supermarket, accessible with fresh groceries, a full baked goods service on-site, and parking close by. As a family-owned business, we are excited to be opening in San Francisco and to be given the opportunity to support this community," said the CEO of the company.

"Mi Rancho Supermarket is a wonderful new addition to this community that will expand local food options, improve health outcomes, and provide job opportunities for residents. All San Franciscans deserve access to an affordable grocery store that provides healthy options," said Sarah Dennis Phillips, Executive Director, Office of Economic and Workforce Development. "The opening of Mi Rancho Supermarket will have a tremendous impact on the residents who live, work, and go to school in this neighborhood and serves as a testament to our City's continued work to ensure all San Franciscans benefit from economic prosperity."

"We are exciting to add yet another full shop grocery store to the Bayview/HP community and are thrilled our seniors have access to fresh foods within walking distance," said Earl Shaddix, Executive Director for Economic Development on Third.
