The Accademia Chigiana enchants Jeddah

The Accademia Chigiana enchanted Jeddah with a concert by the duo Zamuner (violin) - Redaelli (piano) organised by the Consulate General of Italy together with the Saudi authorities in the splendid setting of the Beit Xenel, a historic building in the Old City of Jeddah, Al-Balad, a Unesco World Heritage site.

The programme was particularly rich and full of suggestions, ranging from Tomaso Antonio Vitali to Niccolò Paganini, from Gioacchino Rossini to Vittorio Monti. Appreciated by the guests was the artistic level of the two musicians and the combination of classical Italian pieces with a setting as rich in history and a symbol of Jeddah as the Balad.

In his speech, Consul General Leonardo Costa emphasised the excellent level of cooperation existing between Italy and Saudi Arabia, as well as the deep-rooted presence of Italy in Jeddah, in the country since the end of the 19th century with its own diplomatic representation inside the Balad.

The concert is part of the initiative "Giovani Talenti Musicali Italiani 2023" (Young Italian Musical Talents 2023) organised by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena and the Imola International Academy Foundation "Incontri con il Maestro", reference institutions in the field of higher education at an international level, in collaboration with the CIDIM - Italian National Music Council of Rome and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
