Louisiana State Police Arrest Opelousas City Marshal's Community Liaison for Sexual Battery

Saint Landry - Earlier this month, the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division was requested to investigate allegations of sexual battery, leading to the arrest of 73-year-old Gerald Green of Opelousas.

The preliminary investigation revealed Green, a Community Liaison for the Opelousas City Marshal's Elderly Awareness Program, was involved in an incident that occurred on or around March 27, 2024, in Opelousas. The victim reported that Green committed the offense during a workplace interaction.

On December 10, 2024, Green was booked into the Saint Landry Parish Jail on charges of LRS 14:43.1Sexual Battery and LRS 14:43.1.1Misdemeanor Sexual Battery.

The Louisiana State Police take all allegations of sexual misconduct seriously and will continue to work diligently to protect the citizens of Louisiana.
