The City of Frederick is pleased to announce 53recipients of the ACCESS GRANTED grant program, an initiative designed to support and empower small minority, and women-owned businesses. This program, launched by the City of Frederick's Department of Economic Developmentand the Officeof the Mayor, aims to foster a supportive and inclusive business environment.
The ACCESS GRANTED program received an overwhelmingresponse, with 365 applicants requesting more than $11 million in funding. Application eligibility requiredthe businessesto be for-profit, in good standing with the state of Maryland, have a certificate of occupancy, and have no more than 25 full-timeequivalent employees. Preference was given to businesses within The Cityof Frederick and small minority and women-owned businesses.
After a competitiveselection process, 53 businesses have been awarded grants totaling $400,000.
