Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 14. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.
Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
Bridge replacement:
- Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township
Road closed. Posted detour:
- Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road)
- Route 40 (Main Street)
- Route 221 (S Bridge Road)
- Route 3009 (Cracraft Road)
Mowing:
- I-70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington
- Route 136 (East Beau Street) Park and Ride in South Strabane Township
- Route 221 (South Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township
- Route 519 Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township
- Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough
Patching:
- Interstate 70 in Somerset Township
Paving:
- Route 4049 (Main Street Extension) in Chartiers Township
Rock lining:
- Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo and Canton townships
Slide repair:
- Route 4005 (Hanlin Station Road) in Hanover Township
Crews will pick litter, replace downed and updated signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.
PennDOT has a toll-free number-1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)-for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
