Planning Commission will hear applications at meeting

Oct. 16, 2024 - The Planning Commission will meet on Thursday afternoon, with an agenda that includes public hearings on a handful of rezoning and permit applications.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast on the city's TV channels, Cox 47 and Verizon 22. It will be streamed live at hampton.gov/livetv.

One of the public hearings will be on a permit application by the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to allow for development of a community center on its property at 112 Research Drive. The center would offer social support as well as food, and would be used to train people for food bank jobs.

Hampton University is applying to amend a previously approved application related to its facility at 2 Eaton Street, looking to expand a space on the 14th floor from a warming prep kitchen to a full commercial kitchen to be used for entertainment events.

Armia Real Estate LLC will present a rezoning application related to a proposed day care operation at 1721 N. King St., and Trilogy Developers LLC will give a presentation on a plan to add a new sanitary sewer pump station on LaSalle Avenue.
