Hall County Government launches Transportation SPLOST information page

Hall County Government has launched an information webpage dedicated to the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) program to provide information and education to the public before voting during the Nov. 5 General Election.

"The role of our local government is to serve our citizens, and we want to make sure we are providing them with the necessary information and facts so that they can make an educated decision when voting yes or no on the Transportation SPLOST ballot question in November," Hall County District 3 Commissioner and Vice Chairman Gregg Poole said.

The Transportation SPLOST webpage explains what the Transportation SPLOST program is and how it works, as well as provides a link to an interactive map designed by the Hall County Geographic Information System (GIS) division. The interactive map includes project details, including location, improvement type, cost and other important details.

"The interactive map is a great tool that can help citizens gain a better idea of exactly what these projects entail and how they would affect their daily commute," Poole said. "The GIS team did a wonderful job, and I hope that citizens will take the time to browse this map."

Transportation SPLOST fact sheets and flyers are available for download on the webpage. These flyers include a QR code that links to the Transportation SPLOST webpage, information on roundabouts, projected revenue and distribution, and a sample ballot question depicting what voters might see on the General Election ballot in November.

In addition to the Transportation SPLOST webpage, Hall County Government officials kicked off an educational campaign Tuesday with a presentation at the South Hall Business Coalition meeting. The presentation was strictly informational and allowed the public to ask questions and have discussions about Transportation SPLOST and its proposed projects.

If anyone is interested in booking a presentation (HOAs, clubs, organizations, etc.) to learn more about the Transportation SPLOST program or simply has a question, please email [email protected] and someone will assist in answering your question or reserving a date and time with you.
