Wireless FS40 devices powered by Aurora software affixed to forklifts transform operations
BOURNE END, United Kingdom - 4 Dec., 2024 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA) a leading digital solution provider enabling businesses to intelligently connect data, assets, and people, today announced it has helped leading bakery solutions provider, Zeelandia save at least €20,000 annually, thanks to a new wireless fixed industrial scanning solution.
Based in the Netherlands, Zeelandia caters to industrial bakeries and small to mid-sized bakery businesses throughout the country. Beyond its domestic operations, the company has a presence in over 50 countries. As one of the largest companies of its kind, Zeelandia has a growing need for advanced technology capable of seamlessly supporting its automation efforts.
Zeelandia's previous scanning solution was prone to breakage because the scanners affixed to the forklifts were wired. Each forklift fitted with the previous solution required repair three to four times a year which drove additional costs in terms of equipment downtime and replacing scanners and cables.
With Zebra's FS40 fixed industrial scanners affixed to forklifts and powered by Zebra's Aurora™ software, Zeelandia has improved reach truck operations as well as shipment quantity and quality. Zeelandia's distribution teams also benefit from less downtime and stress, more consistent output for customers, and more time to complete strategic tasks in factories and warehouses.
"The cost and time efficiency gains for Zeelandia is a clear example of how wireless fixed industrial scanners and automation software can be a winning combination for customers looking to transform their operations," said Casper Zweers, Benelux Regional Director, Zebra Technologies. "We're also proud that our solutions reduce stress and workload for our customers' employees as they spend less time repairing equipment and more time providing critical value."
The FS40s are fitted with wireless receivers which eliminates the need for frail cables. Bout Solutions, a Zebra Registered Reseller Industrial Automation Partner, provides the receivers for this solution.
"The competitive edge Zebra and Bout's technology offers us is hard to overstate in times like these when prices are high and disruption is growing," said Toon Meirink, Maintenance Engineer, Zeelandia. "This solution eliminates the need for a lot of repairs and replacements, which could cost upwards of €1,800 per cable and €3,500 per scanner. We're saving a lot of time too - in the past, it took over eight hours to mount a scanner, but Zebra's scanners only require two hours to set up."
